Toro Debuts SGR Line of Handle Bar Stump Grinders
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (October 28, 2010) - Toro introduces a new line of walk-behind stump grinders, the SGR-6 and SGR-13, for grinding small stumps in tight-access areas. Both units are engineered to be well-balanced, easy-to-operate and simple to maintain for smooth cutting and reliable performance.
The 12-tooth cutting wheel on the Toro® SGR-6 offers a cutter depth of 6-in below grade and a cutter height of 10.4-in above grade. The SGR-6 comes equipped with a Honda® GX200 engine and a heavy-duty centrifugal clutch.
Toro SGR-13's 12-tooth cutting wheel boasts an 11-in below grade cutter depth and a 14-in above grade cutter height. The SGR-13 is manufactured with a Honda® GX390 engine and a heavy-duty centrifugal clutch.
“Toro handle bar stump grinders are an ideal choice for landscape contractors and rental customers looking for an affordable way to expand their service offerings,” says Greg Lawrence, product marketing manager at Toro. “The new durable, commercial-grade SGR-6 and SGR-13 models offer the productivity our customers expect from Toro, while incorporating features to allow for easy maneuvering around the jobsite and minimizing operator fatigue.”
The exclusive Quadrublade™ tooth design on Toro SGR handle bar stump grinders cuts like a router without “pulling” the machine into the stump. Rubber gaskets between components on the SGR models, results in less vibration transferred to the operator, reducing fatigue during operation. And, due to superior engineering and design, these models require less “muscling” from the operator while cutting. Both models are portable, designed with lift handles for easy loading and unloading. The Quadrublade design also allows for easy replacement of the cutting teeth within minutes, keeping downtime to a minimum.
Toro offers a new Pro-Sharp Blade Sharpening Service for the SGR-13 handle bar stump grinder. This service is a cost-effective way to ensure equipment is in optimum operating condition. Visit www.toro.com/pro-sharp
