New Toro® 570 MPR+ Nozzles – Save Water with Simple Upgrades
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (Spring 2011) - Using the correct equipment in your sprinkler system can save water and money. The new Toro® 570 MPR+ Nozzles feature a pressure-compensating device that reduces misting and fogging to deliver exactly the right amount of water to your landscape.
If your system has too much water pressure, you'll see a lot of misting from your sprinklers, which can waste water. If your water pressure is uneven it can cause overly wet areas in your lawn and garden, wasting water and money. The 570 MPR+ Nozzles' pre-installed pressure-compensating device helps regulate water pressure to prevent over- or under- watered areas.
Irrigation professionals know it is important that all sprinklers in a particular area of your landscape deliver the same amount of water. So important in fact, that many states are requiring the installation of Matched Precipitation Rate (MPR) irrigation products as part of their water conservation regulations. The MPR in Toro MPR+ Nozzles stands for Matched Precipitation Rate. This means homeowners can mix different types of radius and spray pattern nozzles without worrying about over or under watering. MPR+ Nozzles install onto any Toro 570 spray body, come color-coded by radius, and are available with three fixed patterns - 90°, 180° and 360°.
Many homeowners don't know that you can replace or upgrade your irrigation system with Toro sprinkler parts regardless of what brand your current system is. “All of our new home irrigation products are geared toward saving water,” says Laura Lopez, senior channel manager for Toro's Retail Water Business. “We've made it a priority to create products that will save homeowners water, time and money. These are simple upgrades that are easy to do. Even if your system is only five years old, chances are there are more advanced sprinkler heads available that can apply water more efficiently.”
