Toro Introduces New Greensmaster® TriFlex™ and
TriFlex™ Hybrid Riding Greensmowers
TriFlex™ Hybrid Riding Greensmowers
BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (February 8, 2011) Toro's all-new Greensmaster® TriFlex™ and TriFlex™ Hybrid models are the first riding greens mowers to cut with the precision of a walker. These models were completely redesigned from the ground up to deliver improved cutting performance and course playability, setting a new standard for cut quality in riding greens mowers.
One key to the exceptional quality of cut is the suspension system. Proven Flex suspension allows the cutting units to float over the contours of the putting surface, keeping the cutting units parallel to the ground to maintain consistency of cut and to prevent scrubbing. The double “A” arm Flex suspension system prevents gouging or scalping over modest or severe undulations. Plus, the exclusive lift-in-turn feature delivers a consistently level cut during turns, which reduces “triplex ring” on the clean-up pass.
In addition, the TriFlex Hybrid models feature an all-electric reel drive system that virtually eliminates hydraulic leaks and delivers ample horsepower to handle a broad range of cutting applications. This system also has an exclusive stored energy feature that eliminates clip marks at reel startup and delivers braking power for improved safety when reels are disengaged.
To minimize tire tracks, weight is equally distributed over all three wheels, and redesigned balloon-style tires eliminate sidewall loading for evenly distributed pressure over the entire footprint. Patented dual precision adjustment (DPA) cutting units also maintain adjustment longer. And the redesigned clippings capture system retains nearly all grass clippings for a cleaner cut and to promote healthier turf.
“This new generation of Toro Greensmaster mowers combines major new innovations with the proven benefits of previous models,” explains Helmut Ullrich, Toro's senior marketing manager for greens mowers. “It's a giant leap forward, both in performance and value for our customers.”
For maximum versatility, all TriFlex and TriFlex Hybrid units are equipped to do more than greens mowing. In fact, quick-change cutting units make it possible to cut greens or fairways one minute and easily convert to spiking, thatching or verticutting a few minutes later - no tools required.
The 8, 11 and 14-blade cutting units allow operators to choose the right reel and matching clip for the job, from a 1/16th inch to 1 inch height-of-cut. Faster transport speeds, more powerful gas and diesel engines, and improved ground clearance also save time while expanding the versatility of these machines.
Regardless of the application, the adjustable tilt steering, easy-to-use controls and optional deluxe seats allow operators to work comfortably and productively all day. And the tricycle design ensures that the rear wheel will always turn within the radius of the front wheels, minimizing the chance of dropping a rear wheel in a bunker, getting stuck or damaging the bunker lip or turf. In addition, golf course residents will appreciate the new low-noise muffler.
Improved serviceability is another major advantage of the new TriFlex models. An exclusive lift-gate footrest provides easy access to the center cutting unit, so there's no need to put the traction unit on a lift for routine maintenance on the reels. The quick-change cutting units make reel grinding, routine adjustments or occasional repairs easier, safer and faster as well.
TriFlex units are packed with many other convenient service features, including no grease points, visible fluid level windows on the fuel tank and hydraulic fluid reservoir, jack points on all three wheels, and advanced computer diagnostics.
The Greensmaster TriFlex Hybrid riding mowers are among Toro's first products to display the EnergySmart™ label. “The EnergySmart label isn't just about environmental responsibility. It's about helping customers sustain their business,” notes Ullrich. “These products address both the customer's environmental and financial needs with a combination of features that save energy, enhance productivity, extend a product's versatility, and enhance turf health.”
Four Greensmaster® TriFlex models will be available in the first quarter of 2011 - the TriFlex hydraulic with a gas or diesel engine, and the TriFlex Hybrid available with a gas or diesel engine.
