BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (February 8, 2011) - Scheduled to be released this coming fall, Toro will give customers a first-hand preview of its all-new Greensmaster® Flex™ and eFlex™ walk greens mowers at the 2011 Golf Industry Show (GIS) in Orlando, Fla., February 9-10.
The new Toro Greensmaster Flex and eFlex models will bring several impactful innovations in performance and productivity to the walk greens mower market, including:
- The industry's first-ever lithium-ion-powered, all-electric mower - the eFlex. This all-electric mower delivers game-changing functionality. Simply mow, charge and repeat. A single charge is sufficient to mow up to nine greens* and the battery can achieve a 96% charge in a mere 4 hours, allowing for double cutting during tournaments.
- Improved operator controls including an automated EZ-Turn™ feature will provide operators with better control and comfort at all times. The EZ-Turn user selectable feature - standard on all eFlex models - automatically slows the mower down at the end of a pass and speeds it up again on the return pass, resulting in better control, less turf damage, and a better overall cut.
- An all-new belt-drive transmission, that drives both the traction and reel, is powered either by a new heavy-duty industrial gas engine (Flex models) or advanced lithium-ion battery technology (eFlex models). Both power systems are designed to transfer power to where it is needed most at any given time.
- Variable Clip Feature - allows for 6 easily selectable clip options per reel type (8, 11, or 14 blade reel options) - 18 distinct clip rates in all. This feature allows customers to easily optimize the clip rate for the desired height of cut or playing condition. The selected clip rate is accurate, repeatable, and allows users to easily achieve their desired ball speed (stimpmeter reading) for a predictable and consistent putting surface on every green.
- The EnergySmart™ label, placed on every eFlex, is a visible sign of Toro's commitment to innovation that balances both environmental sustainability and economic value. These products address both the customer's environmental and financial needs with a combination of features that save energy, enhance productivity, extend a product's versatility and enhance turf health.
The new Greensmaster Flex and eFlex models will be available in both 18- and 21-inch cutting widths, and every model utilizes the Toro-patented flex suspension and DPA cutting units. The Flex and eFlex walk mowers are engineered to deliver a consistent quality of cut - independent of ground speed.
